25 MCP Connectors Worth Adding for a Small Business

The MCP connectors that pay off for a small team, grouped by job, with what to ask and what to watch.

Connectors, skills and plugins are now how you extend Claude or ChatGPT, and the connectors directory keeps growing. Most of what is in it was built for developers. If you run a small company or an agency, the question is simpler: which ones let me ask my assistant to do real work in the tools I already pay for, and which ones can I add without running a command? This list answers that for 25 connectors. Every one is an official server run by the vendor itself, or a connector built by Anthropic, and every one can be added from a settings page. For each connector you get the maker, one or two requests you can type on day one, the clients where the vendor's docs confirm it works, and one limit worth knowing before you connect: read-only access, a paid plan, a beta label, or an admin who has to approve it first. The list is grouped by job, from CRM and email through meetings, payments, content, project tracking, documents and automation. Everything here was checked against the vendor's own MCP documentation and Anthropic's and OpenAI's help pages in late October 2026. These products change monthly, so each entry says what the docs said on that date rather than what a listing page promised. Tools that could not be confirmed from an official page were left out.

A curated listyou can scan

A curated list you can scan, filter and act on.

What it does for you

Grouped by job

Sales, email, meetings, payments, content, projects and documents. Find the gap in your week, then the connector that fills it.

A real request for each one

Every entry includes one or two things to type that match a capability in the vendor's own docs, not a marketing claim.

One limit per connector

Read-only tiers, beta labels, paid plans, admin approvals and write access are called out before you connect, not after.

Official sources only

Vendor-run servers and Anthropic-built connectors. No community forks, no servers that need a developer account.

Setup for both clients

The exact steps for Claude and ChatGPT from their current help pages, including where team plans need an owner or admin.

What is included

All 25 connectors across seven categories, setup steps for Claude and ChatGPT, a safety checklist, and two questions people search for.

01

Sales, CRM, support and scheduling

Three connectors for the front of the business: your CRM, your customer inbox, and your booking calendar. All three use OAuth sign-in, so you connect with your own account and the assistant can only see what you can see.

  • HubSpot (official, HubSpot). Ask: "List deals in the Proposal stage with no activity in 14 days" or "Turn these meeting notes into an update on the Acme deal." HubSpot's docs say agents can read, write and update contacts, companies, deals and tickets, acting as a user would.
  • HubSpot works in: Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini (HubSpot says its connectors for all four run on mcp.hubspot.com). Caution: it writes to your CRM as you. Set the write tools to Needs approval in Claude until you trust its edits.
  • Intercom (official, Intercom). Ask: "Summarize this week's conversations tagged billing" or "Draft a new help center article from this doc." The server has 14 tools: search and read conversations, contacts and companies; create and update articles; add internal notes.
  • Intercom works in: Claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, OpenAI clients, Cursor. Caution: it cannot send customer-visible replies, only internal notes. EU workspaces must use the EU URL as a custom connector; Australian-hosted workspaces are not supported yet.
  • Calendly (official, Calendly). Ask: "Find my open slots Thursday afternoon and make a single-use booking link" or "Cancel my 3pm and send the rescheduling link." Calendly's help page lists finding open time, booking and canceling, single-use links, and updating availability and event types.
  • Calendly works in: Claude (directory connector), ChatGPT (plugin), and any tool that accepts mcp.calendly.com as a custom URL. Caution: free Calendly plans can connect, but Calendly says some actions vary by plan, and ChatGPT Free does not support custom MCP connectors.
02

Email, calendar and files

The connectors most people should add first, because the assistant becomes useful the moment it can read your inbox and calendar. The Google and Microsoft connectors are built by Anthropic and live inside Claude; Dropbox is run by Dropbox.

  • Gmail (official, Anthropic). Ask: "Find every thread from Acme since September and summarize where the contract stands" or "Draft a reply to the invoice question." Claude's help center: it searches and reads mail, drafts, manages labels and threads, and can send, reply and forward with approval.
  • Gmail works in: Claude (web, desktop, mobile). Caution: attachment metadata is readable but attachment content is not, and on Team and Enterprise plans an Owner must enable the connector, and decides whether send actions need approval each time.
  • Google Calendar (official, Anthropic). Ask: "Find 45 minutes next week that works for me and Sam, then book it" or "Move every Friday 1:1 to Thursday." The help center lists viewing calendars, creating, updating and deleting events, finding mutual availability and managing attendees.
  • Google Calendar works in: Claude (web, desktop, mobile). Caution: deletes and attendee changes go out under your name. Keep the Needs approval setting on event tools until you have watched it book a few meetings correctly.
  • Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides (official, Anthropic). Ask: "Pull the Q3 numbers from the KPI sheet and draft a one-page summary as a Google Doc" or "Find the latest proposal template and copy it for Acme." Drive searches, reads and uploads; Docs, Sheets and Slides edit live in a side pane.
  • Google Workspace connectors work in: Claude (all plans). Caution: sharing, moving and trashing files need your approval by default, Claude cannot add charts to Slides, and a Workspace admin may need to mark Claude as a trusted app before anyone can sign in.
  • Microsoft 365 (official, Anthropic). Ask: "Find the vendor contract in SharePoint and summarize the renewal terms" or "What did the sales channel in Teams decide about pricing?" Covers SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook mail and calendar, and Teams chat, with delegated access only.
  • Microsoft 365 works in: Claude (Free, Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise). Caution: work or school accounts only, no outlook.com or hotmail.com, and a Microsoft Entra Global Administrator must grant tenant consent. Write actions (send mail, post in Teams) are off until an admin turns them on.
  • Dropbox (official, Dropbox, in beta). Ask: "Search our client folders for the signed Acme SOW and give me the key dates" or "Transcribe this call recording." Dropbox's help page lists search by name or content, text extraction, transcription, and folder, copy, move and shared link tools.
  • Dropbox works in: Claude Web, Claude Code, ChatGPT Web (Developer Mode), Codex, Cursor, all at mcp.dropbox.com/mcp as a custom connector. Caution: beta terms apply, file reads and writes are capped at 5 MB, and a Dropbox team admin may block app connections.
03

Meetings

Two note-takers with official servers. Both are mostly read access, which makes them a safe first connector: the assistant can quote what was said, but cannot email anyone or change your calendar.

  • Granola (official, Granola). Ask: "What did we promise the client in the last three Acme calls?" or "List open action items from this week's Sales folder meetings." Granola's docs list tools to list meetings, read notes, query your history, read transcripts, browse folders and view shared screens.
  • Granola works in: Claude (directory connector), ChatGPT, Claude Code, and any client with Streamable HTTP and OAuth, at mcp.granola.ai/mcp. Caution: free accounts see only the last 30 days of notes, and folder, search and transcript tools need a paid plan. About 100 requests per minute.
  • Fireflies (official, Fireflies.ai). Ask: "Find every call where someone mentioned churn in October and pull the quotes" or "Give me the action items from yesterday's call." Fireflies lists search by keyword, date or participant, full transcripts with speakers, and summaries with action items.
  • Fireflies works in: Claude (directory), ChatGPT (custom connector with OAuth), Cursor and other remote clients at api.fireflies.ai/mcp. Caution: the OAuth connector exposes mainly read tools, and Fireflies limits API requests by plan, so check your plan's limit before heavy use.
04

Payments and finance

Three payment processors with official remote servers. All three can move money or change prices, so these are the connectors where you most want tool approval turned on and a sandbox or test account for the first week.

  • Stripe (official, Stripe). Ask: "Which subscriptions are past due?" or "Create a $500 payment link for the audit package." Stripe's docs list read and write tools across customers, invoices, subscriptions, products, prices, payment links, refunds, disputes and payouts, plus analytics in preview.
  • Stripe works in: Claude (directory connector), ChatGPT (official plugin), Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code, all at mcp.stripe.com. Caution: refunds and Treasury transfers require Human confirmation in the Stripe Dashboard, and an admin can switch MCP access off for the whole team.
  • Square (official, Square, in beta). Ask: "Which items sold most at the market stall last weekend?" or "Add a new customer and attach this order." Square's docs say the remote server gives access to the Square API platform, naming customers, orders and items, with OAuth scopes you pick at sign-in.
  • Square works in: Claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf and Goose, at mcp.squareup.com/mcp. Caution: the remote server only touches production data; sandbox testing needs the local version. Square keeps an allowlist of clients, so ChatGPT is not confirmed.
  • PayPal (official, PayPal). Ask: "List unpaid invoices older than 30 days" or "Create an invoice for Acme for $1,200 due in 14 days." PayPal's quickstart shows invoice listing and creation; the full tool catalog is linked from the same page.
  • PayPal works in: Claude and any MCP client such as Cursor or Cline, at mcp.paypal.com (sandbox at mcp.sandbox.paypal.com). Caution: use the sandbox URL while testing, and PayPal warns that MCP clients can still have performance issues. ChatGPT is not named in its docs.
05

Newsletters, social, design and website

The content stack. All four can create or change content, and Buffer and Webflow can change what your audience sees, so check the write access notes before you let the assistant publish.

  • beehiiv (official, beehiiv). Ask: "Which posts this quarter had the best click rate, and what did the subject lines have in common?" or "Show subscriber growth by source for September." beehiiv says its MCP connects your account for creative, analytics and operations work.
  • beehiiv works in: Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, via OAuth at mcp.beehiiv.com/mcp. Caution: free beehiiv plans are read-only. Paid plans can create and edit drafts, tags, segments and automations, but posts must still be published or scheduled in the beehiiv app.
  • Buffer (official, Buffer). Ask: "Draft five LinkedIn posts from this newsletter and add them to the queue" or "Summarize how my top posts did in the last two weeks." Buffer's help page says assistants can create and schedule posts and list saved ideas and groups.
  • Buffer works in: Claude and ChatGPT (one-click OAuth), Perplexity (API key), Claude Code, Codex and other MCP clients. Caution: it publishes to real channels. Buffer's own setup advice is to tell the assistant what it may do, create a draft first, then check the result in Buffer.
  • Canva (official, Canva). Ask: "Show me my most recently edited design" or "Autofill the monthly report template with these figures and export it as a PDF." Canva's setup page says the connector can create empty designs, autofill templates, find existing designs and export to PDF or image.
  • Canva works in: ChatGPT, Claude (web, desktop, Claude Code), Cursor, VS Code and Gemini CLI, at mcp.canva.com/mcp. Caution: autofill may be Enterprise-only, and Canva says ChatGPT and Claude connectors need paid plans on those clients. Exporting works on all Canva plans.
  • Webflow (official, Webflow). Ask: "Add these three case studies to the CMS collection as drafts" or "Update the pricing page copy and tell me what changed." Webflow's docs cover pages, CMS content, assets, and (with the Bridge App) design elements, components and styles.
  • Webflow works in: Claude Desktop and any MCP-compatible tool at mcp.webflow.com/mcp, with guides for ChatGPT and Claude Code. Caution: an agent can only do what your Webflow seat can do, and designer features need the MCP Bridge App open in the Designer. Changes land in the site activity log.
06

Team chat and project tracking

Where the work is tracked and discussed. All five have official, vendor-run servers with OAuth, and all five can post or create things, so this is where the Needs approval setting matters most.

  • Slack (official, Slack). Ask: "Catch me up on #sales since Monday and list anything I was asked to do" or "Draft a message to #general about Friday's release." Slack's docs list search across messages and files, channel history and threads, sending, scheduling and drafting messages, and canvases.
  • Slack works in: Claude.ai, Claude Code, Cursor and Perplexity (no coding), at mcp.slack.com/mcp. ChatGPT is not listed. Caution: workspace admins approve and manage MCP clients, Slack API rate limits apply per tool, and sent messages cannot be unsent by the assistant.
  • Asana (official, Asana). Ask: "Create a task in the Marketing project assigned to me, due Friday" or "Summarize what is overdue across the Website Relaunch project." Asana's docs cover creating and managing tasks and projects, reports and summaries, and analysis of project data.
  • Asana works in: the Asana app in Claude, the Asana app in ChatGPT, plus Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, at mcp.asana.com/v2/mcp. Caution: the old beta v1 URL was shut down in August 2026, so use the v2 URL. Admins can block the MCP app; if so, ask them to unblock it.
  • Linear (official, Linear). Ask: "Create issues for each item in these standup notes and put them in the current cycle" or "Summarize what shipped last cycle." Linear's docs describe tools for finding, creating and updating issues, projects and comments, with more planned.
  • Linear works in: Claude (Team and Enterprise via the connectors page, Free and Pro via desktop settings), Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code, Windsurf and Zed. Caution: for a safer start use the read-only endpoint, mcp.linear.app/mcp/readonly. ChatGPT is not named in Linear's docs.
  • monday.com (official, monday.com). Ask: "Show every item on the Client Onboarding board that is stuck" or "Create a new board for the spring campaign with these columns." monday's docs say the hosted server can create items, update columns, query boards, manage users and create boards.
  • monday.com works in: Claude, Copilot Studio and the other clients on monday's compatible clients page, at mcp.monday.com/mcp. Caution: it accepts OAuth or a personal API token. Use OAuth where you can, and remember it writes to boards your whole team sees.
  • Atlassian Jira and Confluence (official, Atlassian). Ask: "Summarize open bugs in the MOBILE project by priority" or "Create a Confluence page from these notes." Atlassian's docs cover search and summaries across Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket, plus creating and updating work items and pages.
  • Atlassian works in: ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini and Copilot CLI, at mcp.atlassian.com/v2/mcp. Caution: every call uses Rovo credits with plan-level allowances, and existing v1 connections move to v2 automatically on March 1, 2027.
07

Documents, events and automation

Three connectors that round out the stack: proposals and e-signature, event hosting, and a bridge to the thousands of apps that have no MCP server of their own.

  • PandaDoc (official, PandaDoc). Ask: "Create a new contract from the Master Services Agreement template for Acme Corp" or "Which documents are still waiting on a signature, and send reminders." PandaDoc's docs cover creating from templates, tracking status, reminders, search and analytics.
  • PandaDoc works in: Claude (directory connector for global accounts), Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code and OpenCode, at mcp.pandadoc.com/v1/mcp. Caution: EU accounts (app.pandadoc.eu) must add mcp.pandadoc.eu/v1/mcp as a custom connector; there is no EU listing in the Claude directory.
  • Luma (official, Luma). Ask: "List registrations for next week's meetup and approve anyone with a company email" or "Schedule a reminder blast to confirmed guests for Thursday 9am." Luma's help page covers events, ticket types, guest approval, invites, email blasts, calendars, contacts and coupons.
  • Luma works in: Claude (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise), Claude Code, ChatGPT (app directory), Codex and Grok, at mcp.luma.com. Caution: any Luma account can connect, but blasts and invites count against your calendar's send limit, and the assistant cannot cancel events or refund guests.
  • Zapier (official, Zapier). Ask: "Add this lead to our Google Sheet and send a Slack alert" or "Create a task in my to-do app from this email." Zapier MCP lets the assistant discover and enable actions across the apps connected to your Zapier account during a conversation.
  • Zapier works in: Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Copilot Studio, Slack and any Streamable HTTP client. Caution: each successful tool call uses two tasks from your Zapier plan, connection tokens are long-lived and must never be shared, and org-managed clients may need admin approval.

How to add a connector in Claude

Steps from Anthropic's connectors documentation as of October 2026. Directory connectors need no URL; connectors that are not listed need the server URL from the vendor's docs, which each entry above includes.

  • 1. Go to Customize > Connectors in claude.ai (claude.ai/customize/connectors). In the desktop app, select Customize in the sidebar, then Connectors.
  • 2. Select Discover and search the directory for the service, or look through the categories. Each listing carries a Verified or Community label; verification is not a security audit.
  • 3. Select Connect to Claude. Some connectors first ask for a server URL or your account region (Intercom and PandaDoc do this for EU accounts).
  • 4. Sign in to the service when the page opens, review the access Claude asks for, and approve it. Back on the Connectors page the connector shows under Your connectors as Connected.
  • 5. Not in the directory? On Free, Pro, Max or Ultra, click Add custom connector, paste the vendor's MCP URL (for example https://mcp.dropbox.com/mcp), then Add. Free accounts get one custom connector.
  • 6. In a chat, press + in the message box, choose Connectors, and turn the toggle on. The toggle is per conversation.
  • 7. The first time Claude uses a tool it asks for approval: Allow once, or Always allow for that tool. Change this later under the connector's Tool permissions (Always allow, Needs approval, Blocked).
  • 8. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds the connector for the organization first; members see a Request button instead of Connect until then. Connectors you add in claude.ai also appear in Claude Code and Cowork when signed in with the same account.
09

How to add a connector in ChatGPT

Steps from OpenAI's developer mode docs, plus vendor pages that document their ChatGPT listing, as of October 2026. Plan limits matter more here than in Claude.

  • Vendor-listed connectors: open the Plugins (or Apps) area in the ChatGPT sidebar, search for the service, click Connect, then sign in with the vendor and approve. Calendly, Stripe, Luma, Asana and Canva all document this path on their own pages.
  • In a new chat, press + and select the connector, or open Tools and choose Use connectors, then Add sources (Canva's instructions). Approve the first tool call when prompted.
  • Custom MCP servers need Developer mode, which OpenAI's docs list for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts on the web. Turn it on under Settings > Apps > Advanced settings > Developer mode. On a Business or Enterprise workspace an admin may need to allow it first.
  • Once Developer mode is on: in Apps settings click Create app, enter the vendor's MCP server URL, choose OAuth (the servers in this list use it), and save. The app appears under Drafts. Open its details page to turn tools on or off, and use refresh to pull new tools.
  • Plan limits: developer mode is web only, and Free accounts cannot add custom MCP servers. Vendor-listed apps can set their own plan rules (Canva says its ChatGPT connector needs a paid ChatGPT plan), so check the vendor's page before you count on one.
  • OpenAI shows risk warnings when you enable apps that can write or modify data, and may block some actions rather than ask. Treat an untrusted MCP server as a prompt-injection risk: only add URLs from the vendor's own documentation.
10

Safety checklist before you connect anything

Seven checks drawn from Anthropic's custom connector security guidance, Stripe's and Slack's MCP pages, and the limits above. Run through them for each connector, not once for all of them.

  • Read before write. Start with connectors that only read (Granola, Fireflies, or beehiiv on a free plan) or use a read-only endpoint where one exists (Linear's mcp.linear.app/mcp/readonly). Add write access once you have seen the assistant interpret your requests correctly.
  • Set tool permissions, not just connector permissions. In Claude, open the connector under Customize > Connectors and set each write tool (send, delete, refund, publish) to Needs approval or Blocked. Only use Always allow for servers you trust.
  • Know who approves on a team plan. In Claude Team and Enterprise an Owner adds connectors; on ChatGPT Business and Enterprise an admin may need to allow developer mode; Slack and Dropbox admins can block MCP clients; Microsoft 365 needs a Global Administrator's tenant consent.
  • Check the money paths twice. Stripe requires Human confirmation in the Dashboard for refunds and Treasury transfers, Square's remote server only touches production, and PayPal has a separate sandbox URL. Use the sandbox or a test account for the first week.
  • Only paste URLs from the vendor's own documentation. Anthropic's guidance: connect only to servers from trusted organizations, review the permission scopes at sign-in, watch for unexpected changes in tool behavior, and report malicious servers.
  • Turn connectors off when you are not using them. In Claude the per-chat toggle under + > Connectors keeps a connector signed in but unavailable to that conversation, which limits what a prompt-injection attempt in a document or email could reach.
  • Review sessions and revoke what you no longer use. Stripe lists OAuth sessions under user settings, Zapier connection tokens are long-lived, and Dropbox tokens must be reconnected after scope changes. A connector you removed from Claude may still hold a grant on the vendor's side.
11

What is an MCP server?

The short answer for anyone who has seen the acronym in a settings menu and wants to know whether it matters to them.

  • MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting an AI assistant to an outside tool or data source. An MCP server is the service's end of that connection: it runs on the vendor's side and exposes a set of tools the assistant can call, such as search_contacts or create_invoice.
  • In Claude, a connection to an MCP server is called a connector. Anthropic's docs put it this way: connectors give Claude access to a tool or data source, skills teach it how you do a task, and plugins package both into one install.
  • In ChatGPT, the same thing appears as an app or connector; custom servers are added through developer mode. Cursor, Codex, VS Code and other coding tools also connect to the same servers, which is why vendor docs list several clients.
  • A remote MCP server is one you reach by URL and sign in to with OAuth, like every server in this list. A local server runs on your own computer and usually needs a command line or an installer, which is why this list leaves them out.
  • The practical difference from a Zapier-style automation: an MCP tool runs when you ask for it inside a conversation, with the assistant choosing which tool to call. An automation runs on a trigger without you. Zapier's MCP server, in module 07, is the bridge between the two.
12

Which MCP servers should a small business add first?

A suggested order for a team of one to ten, based on where the assistant becomes useful fastest and where the risk is lowest.

  • Week one, mostly reading: your email and calendar connector (Gmail and Google Calendar, or Microsoft 365) plus your meeting notes (Granola or Fireflies). Together they let the assistant answer "what did we agree and what is next" across every client, and nothing is sent unless you approve it.
  • Week two, your system of record: HubSpot if you run a pipeline, Asana, Linear or monday.com if you run projects. Keep write tools on Needs approval and let it draft updates you confirm.
  • Week three, money and documents: Stripe or Square for revenue questions, PandaDoc for proposals. Start with questions (what is past due, what is unsigned) before you let it create anything.
  • Week four, content and distribution: beehiiv for newsletter analytics, Buffer for scheduling, Canva for exports. Buffer publishes to real channels, so have it create drafts and approve each one in Buffer before anything goes out.
  • Add Zapier last, once you know which of your apps have no server of their own. It covers the gaps, but each call costs tasks on your plan, so use direct connectors wherever one exists.
  • Skip for now: anything that requires creating a developer app, a local install, or a server from a company you cannot verify. If the vendor's own site has no MCP page, wait.

Pick one and connect it today

Start with one read-only connector, then earn the write access

Open Customize > Connectors in Claude, or the Plugins area in ChatGPT, and add the one connector from this list that holds the answers you look up most often. Ask it the example request from its entry. If the answer is right, add the next one. Every connector here was checked against the vendor's own documentation, so the request you type should match a tool that exists.
